I've "converted" to Modern Satanism. Being a Christian most of my life I have relied on God for comfort. Praying, reading scripture, etc. Recently I became agnostic (and still am) because I simply could not stop deceiving myself and have my mind go around in circles. However agnosticism alone has not been able to relieve me of my need to worship. Now after much self-deliberation and the reading of Satanic literature I've decided that Satanism is the right religion for me. It is the only religion I have found that is not only logical for me to follow but it does essentially feel that being a Satanist is helping me become a "better" person. Perhaps not in the sense of benevolence or empathy. But in the sense of becoming a leader.

Congrats on the decision! I hope all goes well for you. Be sure to open up the conversation gently with your folks; they may still have old-fashioned notions about what Satanism is.

Would you care to go into more detail about why you have a need to worship? Does anyone else reading this post feel they need to worship and why?

It all depends on the person. Certainly not all non-theists are Satanists (although LaVey might argue they are as well as everyone else but that's another story). No I suppose I do not need to worship anything. My life will not be in shambles without Satanism in my life. But Satanism is a religion that essentially has it's followers strive to improve themselves, obviously not so much in the spiritual sense. But I really have no interest in climbing up the spirituality ladder, if there is such a thing.

Well good luck with your new path, you'll need it to overcome the ignorance you'll be facing. So what Satanic literature have you read?
