Yom Sheni Shalom,
I thought I start at the beginning. We number the years of the world from 1. 1, 2, 3 ... and so on, just like the days of the month, or the days of the week. So the number assinged to a day, month, or year is rounded up to the nearest whole. There is no "zeroth" year. A persons "age" however is calculated by rounding down to the nearest whole. When someone is age 1, that means they have already lived a full year, but have lived less than 2 years. Here is how it works out with Adam and the years of the world: 1 world = 0 Adam 2 world = 1 Adam 3 world = 2 Adam And so on. Did you know that Bishop Ussher, the Rabbis, and every other chronologer (except yours truly) have to my knowledge made this mistake: 1 world = 1 Adam .... and so on. But when they get to Seth's birth, its like this: 130 Adam = 0 Seth 131 Adam = 1 Seth Which is correct. But why didn't they do it from Adam too? Hmm, how does Adam get to be age-1 on the day he was created? If you want to skip ahead you can see my first powerpoint, Adam to Solomon: http://www.torahtimes.org/PowerPoint/TheBibleCode03.ppt That just a preview of where I'm going with this thread. Could it be that straigtening out a little mistake like that brings revealing things from bible chronology? Daniel Last edited by DanielbenIsrael; 04-06-2009 at 11:48 AM.. |

Sigh.
I fail to see how this has ANYTHING to do with the Messianic faith.

Well it does, but its rather subtle. I'm going to post a new thread on Daniel 9 and Rabbi Halaphta. It seems that only hot button issues are interesting.

How do you know that the Torah holds to this principle of numbering the years? May be "the second year" in the Torah mines that it is 1 year and 1 day at least?

Daniel Ben Yisrael,
This is very interesting. Have you seen anything as yet where this changes anything that most have conceived to be truth as far as a date goes by being one year off? Anything substanial? |

Could it be that Adam was made into a man, not a baby?
