Ha! There are some words I just can't spell.

And yes, I do mean within a certain frame of reference when I say high-paying. I've been told all my career to expect to start at $35k or so(yes, yearly), but actually I'm under the delusion that it is closer to $70k. Honestly, I'd rather make more money selling ladies shoes if it's around $35k.

It could be closer to $70k depending on the university/job. Wouldn't that be awesome? The FAA (my husband's an air traffic controller) is offering fledgling controllers about 35K to start since NATCA blew out their last contract. Not too many takers so they will be hurting for controllers within a short time span. A couple of years ago the starting pay was over $56k.

My son Brandon wants to be a Youth Pastor and has applied to Seattle Pacific, George Fox, NWCC among other private Christian universities. I told him unless he gets a full ride scholarship, it aint gonna happen. Seattle Pacific's tuition is over $30k a year and it doesn't make sense to me to spend that much going to school to land a job making $30,000 a year.

Do you have any recommendations for colleges that have good scholarship programs?

That's going to be hard to find these days. I used to know of good ones, but I can say that if he's not a star football player or a genius, the best you can do is a combo of parent and student loans, scholarships, and grants and you will have to fight tooth and nail for every penny.
