Hey, I thought I'd come back and update people for whomever still remembers me. Lol, I've been gone too long, there are so many new names on the forum. I just wanted to come in and tell you guys whats going on in my life.
I graduated college on the 9th of this month and started a new job on the 11th this month at Children's Services as a caseworker. The job is stressful and so far pretty mentally taxing but I get to help people and I really have always wanted to be able to help children. So I'm pretty busy and stressed out because in case you guys don't know, county jobs never pay enough so right now i'm not able to move out and i need a new car because mine keeps breaking down but I do not have enough money. My commute to work is 45 minutes so it is kind of important to have a new car so I guess I'll just have to pray that i can make it to work and back. I am pretty strapped for cash, literally the worse of my whole life but then again, aren't all recent grads? On a more personal note, my boyfriend of a year and a half and I just split and its pretty painful. For those of you who know me, you know who I was dating. I really thought I'd found my soul mate but I guess maybe I was just caught up in being in love. You know what they say, you always lose the first person you love. I really hope the two of us remain friends. We hung out last week about 4 days afterwards and it went okay until goodbyes, then that was hard. It also doesn't help that I questioning religion which again is a sign of my age. Sighs, it just makes it hard when your family isn't supporting, you realize you have no friends but him anymore, and you don't know if God is there. Anyways, ok, enough whining. I'm gonna make an attempt to hop on here during lunches at work but I can't promie I'll be as active as I was before. Thanks fo reading!

When stuff is too big for your hands, leave it in God's hands. I've been through times when I've felt like God wasn't listening to me. Recently a woman told me that when you are trying to be on a spiritual path, you can face a lot of adversities. I think these are tests to see if we have faith in God during the good times only or the bad times too.
It's not always true that you lose your first love. I married mine! I'm also his first love. Whatever was meant to be will be. Sometimes we can't see the bigger picture or what will happen in the long run but everything works out for the best. Take care of yourself. Get enough rest and eat well to keep up your strength.

Nice to see you back on the forum and that you graduated and got a job!
But I am also sorry to hear about the bad things going on in your life right now and hope that things become resolved and better soon enough. |

CD I am sorry about your split. You two were inseparable when you were on here. I thought you two would eventually marry.
County jobs suck pay wise. I was in that boat when I first joined RF with my probation job. I feel you there. Not the most enticing advise but I would recommend you get a part-time night/weekend job to supplement your income. I had to do that. I had friends that worked for cps and I remember them going home at night and crying from the stress and bottled up emotion of seeing injured and neglected children all week. I got offered a position as a caseworker there 3 years ago and passed on it. I deeply admire people who do that job for the lousy pay they get but I personally don't see how it is feasible to last there more than a few years. On a final note, take it from an atheist. Life without a supreme being is no big thing. You have friends and likely most of them would still be your friends even if you didn't believe in God anymore. This week call two of them and tell them about your woes. Surround yourself with a strong network of friends is a solid life-choice investment. I hope you get a good break soon. Take care and nice to see you on here again. *hugs* |

CD, sorry about the split with Jeff. Darn it anyway, but we are better for getting you back. Make sure you have an outlet for your stress...not just eating (I'm living proof)...working with kids in turmoil can be very hard, bless you for it!
