To make matters worse, when he got back to Southampton 9where he lives, and is based), he bumped into his mentor (and manager), with whom he really gets on well; they ended up going to a pub and drank a few beers while disecting the exam.......

I spoke to him briefly this morning, and he seemed to have a clear head; however, he was checking up to find out how he sounded on the 'phone last night, when we spoke from the pub (and his sppech was definitely slurred) - well, he deserves it, he has worked really hard.

Well, with that type of exam, it is not really possible to know how one did - because it is all about "sniffing out" queries in company balance sheets, and accounts, making sure someone is not trying to pull a fast one (Enron comes to mind as an example).

He needed 55 % to pass, and on the first exam, he got 52%; during the preparation for the re-sit, he took numerous "mock" exams which were marked by the tutors, and was averaging 75% - but, as he said himself, that doesn't really mean anything; the exam day itself is the one that counts.

I am hoping he will pass; but we have to wait four weeks for the results.........

I am going to have to start on my toe nails at this rate.........
