I'm really excited.

I just found out tonight that my little brother is putting in his mission papers on December 18th!!!!

I can't believe it, he's going on a mission!!

Anywho, I just wanted to share my brother's good news.

Not yet. He'll know within 3 weeks to a month of putting in his papers.

He hasn't saved up all the money, but my parents agreed to pay for half.

He is 18 and will be 19 in March. You can put your papers in 3 months before you birthday.

This is just happiness for him, and my family. We all are really proud of him.

If I know correctly (and any LDS correct me if I'm wrong)

You have to fill out paperwork (i.e. language skills, hobbies, birthdate, all that fun stuff)

Get a physical. I'm not sure what else.


Any worthy young man (by LDS standards) and young women can go on a mission.

How long? 2 years for a male and 18 months for a female. They can be sent anywhere the church has a mission.

He could go to Mongolia, Africa, France, Canada, Idaho, California. Pretty much anywhere.

I'm so excited for him. I think he'll be a great missionary!

I will. I'm also really excited, because he'll be going through the temple and I'll get to be with him, and my mum and dad. Probably doesn't mean much to non-LDS'ers, but to me, it'll be something I'm really looking forward too.
