My son James...............
My son James gets his finals results in 30 mins; I am absolutely worse than useless this moning........................
Personally, It matters not one Iota to me what he achieves, but I know it does to him. Futher more, he will be back in our house at 10.30 pm tonight.............. It seems like only 5 mins ago that we took this one of him:-

He achieved a 2:1 which is what he thought he would get, with a distinction in spoken Spanish. A 2:1 is the first level down from a 'first'.
   Edit:- 3% below a first!!!!!

I am so so proud of him! he has achieved this by sheer will and determination.
When he changed from Primary to secondary school, his headmistress advised against even taking a Grammar school entrance exam; he did, and he did not pass it. We told hime "No problem, better to be good among people who are at a lower level than to be floundering with 'clever' people". He asked me to contest, and to do my best to get him in; I succeeded. He got 12 GCSE levels, and 3 and a half A levels (the half being Italian which counted as an AS level (just one year's worth))
