Default I'll be away for a few days

Hi...I just wanted you all to know I will be away for a few days...Saturday a little boy of 8 years old happened upon a shotgun and was handling it when his 16 year old cousin came in and tried to remove the gun from him...it went off shooting the little boy in the face...greif counsellers were at the school today...My grandson thought it was another boy with the same name until recess when he didn't find his little friend on the playground he realized it was his friend...he's not dealing with this well so I need to do a few things to help him get through this over the next few days...I hope you will all forgive my absence.

Im also having a real hard time with this...I'm sad and angry...I just don't understand how anyone could let a loaded gun around even for a second when there is a small child in the home!!! I guess the 16 year old was out turkey hunting and when he came home he didn't think to unload the gun and put it away...Little Dalton found it and with curiosity , well...IT's just horrible!!!

Respectfully, FTH

If anyone has been through any type of grief counselling for a 7 year old I would appreciate the help. Many thanks!!

That is terrible. I pray for comfort for you all. Take all the time you need... it is good to try to help your grandson through such a difficult time.

I understand your anger. This tragedy was preventable with basic gun safety. Hang in there. I dealt with grief consellors at sixteen, but at that age I ignored them and clung to my friends.
