I am still learning........I think I will go on doing so until the day I die (well, I hope I will). One thing that never ceases to amaze me are the kind comments people say to me; from fruball comments to ones (like the one you have made in this thread, Rob), that I immediately think "Is he talking about the right guy ?" I have learned a lot from Victor recently, more about his faith and mine and the seemingly absurdities about 'labels'. The longer I am here, the more I think that we do all believe in the same God (though we see him/her/it in so many different ways), and I think of the sadness and heartache that is generated by just that.............

Divine has brought me back to my senses on more than one occasion by showing me things in a rational point of view, Feathers has been a very good friend and at least i know there is SOMEONE i can win a debate against (just kiddin, heh heh) and practically everyone on the forums for teaching me that no matter what faith (or lack thereof) you belong to, you can be loving and accepting of other people. heres my personal thank you list.

From Amy (Maize) I learned alot of the key word's concepts and intricacies of the GLT war in the legistlative system, courts and churches. I work part time at a dept store and about 1/2 the men there are gay. I took some of the information she shared on here and taught told them about the war being waged and how important it was to vote, be informed and build alliances for legal rights.
From Nate (angelleous evangellous) I learned a bit about philosophy and recently picked up voc words to read-up on over the years. From Buddy (real name is Buddy) I learned alot about the christian conservative rationals behind war and aggressive use of force. I knew a bit about it before but mostly surface stuff. His word choices in the political section gave me tools to better read and research the issue from a right-wing Christian perspective. Most the stuff I learned from Meggie (Feathersinhair) are mod stuff. I work alot of compassionate angles from watching her in action as a mod. Hopefully her influence has made me a more tolerable mod. From Katzpur I learned alot about how Mormons apply mormonism to daily life. I kew a fair amount about mormonism before joining RF thanks to Brice and Christian who use to knock on my door and I do get alot of info from the other mormons on here but I think she seems to post more info on here than that others in terms of history and philosophy of it. I read alot of the lds threads on here in the lds section but don't comment cause they are dir forum material. I got a ways to go and am just gonna wade through this a few members at a time . I use to pm Rex alot when I first joined and before I was an mod. He was pretty cool with putting up with my egging him about not coming to a conclusion about the exitance of God. He was an agnostic when I first came here and an atheist when he left. He use to put up random questions that his philosophy professor asked him his last year in school. If you ever get a chance to find some of those threads those topics are facinating. What I learned the most from him was looking at abstract philosophical concepts and viewing them in real world settings. That was about the time I wrote off Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" as garbage though that was never a topic Rex posted on here on commented on. ok more later on this week. |

I've learned so much from Djamila about Bosnia and the culture there that it makes me want to jump on a plane to come visit her and do some bellydancing.
I've learned countless things from A_E, Jay, and JamesthePersian about early Christian history that is simply fascinating. I've also learned a lot about LDS theology from Katzpur, Becky, and Jonny. I even learned how to play Mafia because of Mrs. Stemann (go Sahra, go Sahra, GO, GO, go Sahra!). ![]() Peace, Mystic |

From robtex, pah, and linwood, Jay, and doppelganger I have learned to be precise with my words - which is something that still needs work because I tend to understate or overgeneralize... I greatly appreciate continual contact with atheism.
From maize and other GLBT friends I have seen the beauty of homosexuality and homosexual families which refreshes and informs my voice and awareness for GLBT causes, especially marriage From beckysoup and LDS friends I have seen the LDS heart for Jesus Christ

From Rob, I've learned a lot about 'right brain' type of thinking. (Or is it left brain? I can never keep those right.) He's taught me a lot about enthusiasm and how important it is to encourage people to join RF so that there can be more fun for everyone! Mostly, he's helped me to realize that confrontation and conflict are not inherently bad things.
