Default Breakfast With The Best
Sorry, I just have to gush for a moment.

My son came home today from school with a little card in his school bag. Seems he won something called "breakfast with the best". It's given out once a year at his school. 5 children are chosen from the entire school (grades kindergarten through 6) to have breakfast with the principal, based on their academic achievements, behaviour in class, willingness to participate, kindness to others, willingness to help out teachers, other students, etc. etc.

And (now to gush) out of the 200 or so kids at his elementary school, HE was one of the 5 chosen to have a special breakfast with his principle and the four other kids in the principal's office. He also receives a little special award with it.

I'm sorry, I'm just so proud, I can't seem to be able to stop smiling, nor am I able to stop talking about it. I simply HAD to play the proud parent and gush to all my friends on here.

Awesome Someone in my family died recently, and it got me thinking to how whenever someone dies, someone else is born. But it's not the birth that's important to me...it's growing into a person. Those little moments, when they do well in school, bring home a hurt animal, read their first book, show you a picture they're proud of. Yeah...that's the ticket. I want to have a kid(s) too :P
