One of my favourite characters dies, and no, it is not Harry.
I am referring to Dobby.

I know I love Dobby!!!! I dont read the books, but I looked at the plot on wikepedia so knows who dies and who doesnt! I prob shouldnt post them as I dont know what chapt you have got to so cant tell you which one it refers to either!

I was surprised so many died:

Fred (it was Fred right?), Dobby, Mad-Eye Moody, Tonks, Lupin. And at one point I thought Harry was going to be dead...

You forgot Snape, who was likely the second bravest of the good guys, if not the bravest.

I did! I think I did, because until the very end of this last book I hated Snape. With a passion! What I'm wondering is, what ever happened to Umbridge. She just sort of shows up for a bit and then is gone!

I found the twist over the Elder Wands loyalty to be rather intriguing.
And then the fact that Harry was basing his defeating Voldermort at the end on the faith that he was right about the Elder Wands loyalty.

I assume that she continued teaching.
I was hoping that Snape was a good guy, but I could not figure why Dumbledore trusted him so completely.
I figured snape was hard on Harry for several reasons.
The most obvious being the way Harry's father bullied him, but also because it seemed to Snape that Potter was like Denise the Menace, got away with most everything.

Remember she was at the Ministry of Magic. She couldn't have been teaching there. She had Mad-Eye Moody's magic eye on her office door.

Rowling's writing was astounding. Leaps and bounds above all her other books.

For a moment there I thought Longbottom and Hagrid were as good as dead. Snape... ah, my favorite hero of the series went out with less of a bang than I had expected, but he was finally redeemed.
