The reason there's next to nothing, as far as Book of Mormon historical/archeological evidence goes, is because the cities and inhabitants were swallowed up in the earth and many cities fell into the sea, and whatever wasn't swallowed up in the earth or sea, was COMPLETELY destroyed by FIRES and EARTHQUAKES, so that all that was was a pile of ROCKS, DUST, ASHES, etc.

What was prophesied in 2 Nephi, was fulfilled in 3 NEPHI (a parallel to OUR time).

2 Nephi 26: 5
And they that kill the prophets, and the saints, the depths of the earth shall swallow them up (FFH's note: Whole cities were COMPLETELY swallowed up), saith the Lord of Hosts; and mountains shall cover them (FFH's note: Volcanic debri, for example ash and lava, COMPLETELY buried whole cities), and whirlwinds shall carry them away (FFH's note: Complete hurricane and tornado destruction of whole cities), and buildings shall fall upon them and crush them to pieces and grind them to powder (FFH's note: Earthquakes destroyed whole cities by grinding them to poweder/dust).

This is why we see next to nothing, as far as archeological and human remains/evidences of the inhabitants of the Book of Mormon, not to mention they killed each other NEARLY completely off.

The same thing is THREATENING to happen in these last days.

Sounds hard to believe that there could be such NEAR total DEVASTATION on THIS NORTH AMERICAN contient, but it has been prophesied by Jesus in the Book of Mormon if the INHABITANTS of this NORTH AMERICAN continent do not KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS, history will repeats itself, but it can be changed, it doesn't have to be that way.

We discover things in Africa that were "buried" long before the events of the BoM are portrayed.
