Labelling us as a 4th Abrahamic religion is not going to help, it's just another way to say we aren't christian.

Exactly, also by calling it Mormonism, i sounds as if we revere and worship Mormon, rather than Jesus Christ and God the Father. the same to beings of both the old and new testament.
We are already under the "Christian" banner because we follow Christ and his teachings. We don;t believe in different things than Chrisitans, we believe more things on top of the basics. why? because we accept the BoM and the Doctrine and Covenants as the Word of God. PEople forget that we use the Bible. we use the same bible everyone else does. We are Chrisitans. we don't need being called the "4th abrahamic religion" one bit. Joseph smith is to Mormons what Mohammed is to Muslims? please.... we do not worship Joseph Smith. He was a prophet on par with Moses, Noah, Abraham, and Isaiah. We don't worship prophets and apostles or saints. only one being is the recipient of our worship and that is God.

They don't worship Mohammed anymore then we worship Joseph Smith. Please before claiming something, get your facts right. It makes you look less ignorant if you have your facts right. |

the Quran is to the musilims, what the D&C is to us. it is Mohammed's writings. just as the D&C is Joseph Smith's and other church leaders of the time. If anything Mohammed is to them what Christ is to us.

I sure wish a Muslim would come along and set you straight. Muslims do not worship Mohammad. They do not see him as the Son of God. They do not believe that He came to earth to redeem them.
It drives me crazy when non-Mormons say, "Mormons believe..." and complete the sentence with something Mormons don't believe at all. You are doing exactly the same thing by saying, "Muslims believe..." and completing the sentence with something Muslims don't believe. That's not the way to debate. Furthmore, it's against the rules of the forum.

Hatter, i am sorry, but you are simply wrong.
Muslims do not worship Muhammed, nor do we "pray in his name" as a Christian might pray "in Jesus' name, amen". Muslims say "bismillah" which means "in the name of God", and we regard Muhammed as a messenger, not a divine figure or a semi-divine figure. he was a man, a human being, who relayed a message. he is the central prophet of Islam, a pious and beloved figure, but how Muslims understand Muhammed is in no way comparable to how Christians would view the person-hood of Jesus.
