Is "Mormonism" Considered Mainstream Anywhere? (Latter-Day Saints, choice, hell)

Do you think "Mormonism" is considered mainstream anywhere besides Utah? I used to think it was mainstream in the western United States, but a recent post be someone in LA put this into question. I don't know if that person is just unaware of all the Mormons around him or not. I've known the LDS church isn't well received in Europe or at least I've had that impression and Mila's recent post in another thread seems to confirm this (but at least she's come around ).

What do you think? Is "Mormonism" mainstream in your neck of the woods?

EDIT: I am NOT defining mainstream as in mainstream Christian. I am defining mainstream as normal and/or accepted or NOT weird or wacko or bizarre.

My guess is that it's not considered mainstream anywhere except in areas heavily populated by Latter-day Saints. Obviously, that would include Utah, parts of Idaho, and maybe even parts of Nevada and Arizona. Frankly, I would just as soon not be considered mainstream Christian, as long as my love for my Savior doesn't come into question.

I need to clarify...I don't mean are Mormons considered mainstream Christians...I mean are Mormons considered mainstream as in, not weird or different or "other."

i'm in wisconsin, diffinitly not main streem... the relition of choice green and gold or otherwise known as the Packers... and i don't even like foot ball... but i am in a small branch of about 80-100 people. there was a new branch formed in the green bay stake that affected our a bit but in size...

Not in the parts on NY I've been to and lived in. We have very few Mormons, especially close to the city (Long Island is a heavily Jewish area). Actually, I don't think I've ever met one.

Oh, no that's not true....a few months ago there were a couple going door to door, so I guess there's a chuch nearby.
