Week one is over. It could have been better. I could have been more prepared. I need to figure out a way to get 10 year old boys to listen, and I don't know how to do it. I think that overall it went well enough though.

Yeah, games are a good thing, especially when you compete

A good game for young boys/men:
Get them all to stand in a circle, with a stack of empty boxes in the middle. Next all join hands to form a ring. When a person is 'out' they leave the ring. Ways to get out: Knocking over the boxes in the centre. Breaking the ring (both people either side of the break are eliminated. So the objective is to pull other people into the boxes into the middle. If they knock the boxes over they are out. Alternatively the can force others to break their link with the person either side of them. Continue till you have a winner.

but what do you teach with that? I guess the challenge is figuring out how to relate your games to scriptural things, or whatever it is they teach in primary. I never was in primary...

Hangman or matching games sometimes work. Young boys can be a challenge. Especially to get them to sit still for singing time. I play the piano for primary right now and I have found that very few 10 year old boys like to sing or sit still.
