If polygamy were legal would you take on a second wife/husband? What are you thoughts on this subject?

I don't think so. I would probably be too jealous to let my (future) husband take another wife, and probably be too single-minded to think of taking another husband.

I don't necessarily think it would be too much work, but I think that once I found a husband I wouldn't even think of other men, let alone to the point of actually marrying a second one.

Absolutly no. The wife I have fulfills all my needs and desires.

I once heard that the penalty for polygamy is having more than one mother-in-law.
![]() Seriously...no, I would not take a second wife, and here is one scriptural basis for my belief. Quote:
I guess the polygamy laws were crafted with the intent of keeping a man from marrying 2 or more women and then not being able to support the children. I think the laws should stay as they are especially as they relate to property rights and inheritance issues. Allowing multiple marriages could create a nightmare for probate courts. Of course, a man & his harem can get arond the laws by just living together with no marriages involved.

I'd be too jealous, too. I don't want to compete with another woman for my husband's time and attention.

I have a question: If a LDS women is married to a LDS man and he decides he wants another wife, does his current wife have any say in matter? What would happen if he takes another wife against his current wife's wishes?
