All I know is that the Immmigrants who came here came from North India.

EDIT: It is hard to trace. This was mainly because of the differences in language. For e.g. when asked what their name was, some didn't understand and just said "Bedasie" or foreigner. So there are many people who now carry the name "Bedasie". Heh, it's my husband's last name, which I soon have to add on to my old last name. We just didn't have time to make the change since the wedding.

I have heard that most people in India refer to the festival of Holi as well...Holi, but in a certain area say Phagwa. In Trinidad we say Phagwa as well.

I was even born premature. My mom had me via C-section....I was actually upside down in the womb. Hmmm.....maybe that's why I always get things back to front and upside down...it started in the womb!
