Thank you for the welcome and questions everyone.
Botany is more the study of plant classification/systematics, also anatomy. Plant physiology, my main field, includes plant metabolism, biochemistry, and plant response to environment/disease/stress. Genetics these days is mostly genome mapping and biotechnology. I worked in all of these during my 15-year professional life.
