So, Kathryn, if you're ever in Virginia, you are going to stop by for dinner, right?

Tomorrow evening, my extended family will come over. There will be ten of us -- which is ten people who have to endure my cooking. It will be my husband, son, daughter, son-in-law, sister, brother-in-law, two nephews and mom (who is 93 and just recovering from a broken pelvis, but is mentally as sharp as a tack). I'm cooking prime rib and Yorkshire pudding (which really isn't pudding at all, but a little like pop-overs). Then we'll all exchange presents. We switched over from having dinner on Christmas Eve to Christmas night a number of years back, after my daughter (who was then around 7 or 8, as I recall) said to me at about 8:00 on Christmas morning, "It's all over now, isn't it?" Having it on Christmas night has worked out really well for us. Plus it gives me one more day to stress out over dinner. (My son-in-law graduated from culinary school -- The Culinary Institute of America in Poukeepsie, NY, so since he's been coming over, it's been even more stressful for me!)

Kathryn-
I just reread you thread as part of my mod training stint. I am reminded of the many things I learned about you. But, green??? why green???? Oh, well, there's no accounting for taste. Peace, glad you're a mod. |

That's so neat! What do you mean, "There's no accounting for taste,"? Just 'cause I have better taste than you do. Why green? Because green is the color of new life in the spring. It means winter (which I hate) is almost over. It's the color of lush grass and leaves on huge shade trees. It's such a peaceful, relaxing color. I'll admit that I can't stand olive green and I'm not too crazy about either chartreuse or teal, but emerald green, kelly green, mint green, lime green, sage green... I love 'em all. I also love various shades of lilac, violet and lavender, and I also love yellow. What's your favorite color?
