Michel, its hard to ask you questions cause I already know so much about you. You are pretty much an open book on here. If it isn't putting you on the spot you decided to be UU for about less than a month than went back to Christianty. Why the toggle back and forth and what caused you to decide to be a follower of Christ. Also, how does your atheist son react to your beliefs?

So I have gone back to being the 'Mongrel' I was. I am not sure about my son; I think he thinks he is an athiest, but is probably more of an agnostic. My other son won't talk about religion (although he has said that he believes in a God, as has my wife, although she won't discuss anything religious either). That's why I am here. ![]()

But then again, there's Neil Diamond, Charley Pride, Dire Straits, The Who...............aw heck, I love 'em all. Art ? As in painting - I am very conservative; I love the Dutch artists, but to be quite frank, I can be entranced by anything as long as it is good (some of the stuff drawn by members here is just as inspiring, to me). ![]()

1941 Joan Chandos Baez is born on January 9 in Staten Island, New York, the middle daughter of Albert Vinicio and Joan Bridge Baez. 1951 Joan spends a year living in Baghdad, Iraq, with her family when her father accepts a job there. Upon their return to the U.S., the family moves to California. 1956 For the first time, Joan hears a young Martin Luther King, Jr. lecture on nonviolence and civil rights. She also buys her first guitar. 1957 Joan commits her first act of civil disobedience by refusing to leave her high school (Palo Alto High School) during an air-raid drill. She also meets Gandhian scholar, Ira Sandperl, who becomes one of her strongest political influences. 1958 Joan graduates from Palo Alto High School, Palo Alto, California in June. She also records a demonstration album, but it fails to garner interest from record company executives and the project is shelved. In late summer, the Baez family moves to Belmont, Massachusetts, when Joan's father accepts a teaching post at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Joan's interest in the Cambridge, Massachusetts, folk scene grows as she begins visiting the local coffeehouses. She registers as a student at Boston University, but only sporadically attends classes and soon quits school to concentrate on her blossoming singing career. Her songs range from protest songs to love songs to ballads - she sings a lot of religious songs; she has a fantastic range. She can go from Bass to soprano without any problem. I live within 10 mins walk (when I used to be able to walk properly) of the town center of Bournemouth (believe it or not, it features:-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bournemouth, but, looking out of the back and front windows, all you see are trees. Pictures ? there are some here, but few of Bournemouth itself. The Wikipedia page has some photos. ![]()
