![]() (yay! time for me to rant on about paganism again )basically, i found a pendant with a thick black cord round it, and i loved the pendant (dragon) but it felt very very negative! so i cleansed it last night on my alter, charged it with protective properties....... as i could feel the energies through the pendant, i pushed the negative energies into the thick cord, and then cut the cord from the pendant, casting away the negativity it makes sense to me! and yes, the athame is shiney, but blunt.... for now.... nice to hear from ya Chris!

Why did you choose a dragon for your avatar?
Also, is that a Celtic dragon by any chance? It's got to be one of the coolest avatars on the Forums, Smokey Snorts.

What do you like best about RF, Mike?
What do you like least about it? It is well known that when you became a mod the thing that impressed you most were the behind the scenes Friday night drunken orgies. But what impressed you second most about your new job? What's the toughest part of being a mod? What's the easiest part?

no, the thing i least like is getting into debates with people that "block" friendly feelings - an example would be the debate i got into with Alyssa over rights in other countries... our personal friendship was strained because of our opposing view (which was actually a misunderstanding, because we agreed )Quote:
- but in all seriousness, i was very impressed with the mod team because i think that each and every member of the team represents the virtues this forum stands for (fairness and tollerance) and actively uphold these virtues in their moderating.Quote:
for instance, take someone who says "i don't agree with homosexuality, i don't think it is natural/right" and someone who says "i hate gay people" - even though my initial reaction to both statements is the same, i want to completely disagree with them and debate them into submission, i can tollerate the first statement because it is not rude, inflamatory or completely ignorant, it is based on someone actually concidering the issue and reaching their own conclusion - something that even if i disagree with, i respect Quote:

Please refresh my memory, Mike. I should know the answer to this next question, but I've forgotten. Anyway, have you ever removed yourself from the moderator discussion of a possible rules violation because you felt you could not in that particular case be a fair minded judge?
I know you can't go into any specific or identifying case details because of the rules against moderators talking about cases, but could you in general let me know the kind of case you removed yourself from, if you did, without saying anything that would identify which case it was?

there have been occasions where i have proposed moderator action, and other mods have said "maybe something else is more appropriate" - such few occasions occur when i want to act without thinking about what action is appropriate. i can safely say, however, that because of the way we moderators organise our actions, we are all checking up on each other, and no one takes action based on rash or hurried decisions, every action is fully justified.
