Default Hebrew

I recently had the " urge " , so to speak , to learn Hebrew. I was wondering if there is any web sites that I can check out that will teach me how to speak Hebrew , and if not , is there any books out there on the subject. If I am in the wrong forum to be asking this question, I aplogize.

http://foundationstone.com.au/OnlineHebrewTutorial.html

It's a VERY basic intro, aleph bet and a couple words and phrases, but it teaches you how to teach yourself - sort of. It doesn't go into grammar like a fluent speaker knows, but it should get you started After that course, just contact a local Shul, they offer classes to Jews, you might be able to get them to teach you for $$ since you're not a Jew.

I see that you are catholic but if you want to find some experts in Hebrews look for some Jewish groups. It is the one religion that really brought Hewbrew back to life and in many many synagogues you will find a handful or more who speak Hewbrew.

I speak two languages now, and a little (ok maybe tiny bit ) of two more and I can tell you from personal experience trying to learn a whole language with a high degree of proficiency on the net or from a book without human interaction is a tough tough game.

Besides, you will get an insight to a religion that Jesus and Paul both studied as a bonus!!

There maybe 3-4 people who don't speak Hebrew fluently at my Shul. If you're interested in learning Hebrew, go to Israel or an Orthodox Shul where everyone speaks it over English.

Yea, maybe you might learn why Jews who study the torah all their lives for over 2000 years have come to the same conclusion that Jesus isn't who he said he was.
