Exclamation Need a answer to a question

Could someone tell me why, people pray or worship at the wall in Jerusalem?

And please point me to the location and name of the scipture's that support's or say's such should be done.

This will be very helpful to me if someone could supply me with this information, so I can better understand "what has told people that they must do such" therefore I can better understand "why" it is done.

Thank you all for your time in reading this, I hope someone could supply me with the information that I seek.

Perhaps a troll baiting the Judaism forum? We'll see ...

In the meantime:
  • Jews pray at the Kotel because it is seen as the remnant associated with the most holy cite of Jewish ritual observance.
  • It is not an obligatory act; "should" has nothing to do with it, so your second request is irrelevant.

Like Jayhawker, but with a little more detail and a little less scepticism about your intentions, the Kotel is the last remaining wall that surrounded the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Jews earnestly wish and pray for the rebuilding of the Temple, for all kinds of reasons. But failing that, the Western Wall is all we have left of it. Well... no, the Temple proper was destroyed completely. However, there was a wall built around the actual building of the Temple, and the Western Wall (and parts of the Southern Wall) still stand. But because the Western Wall is closest to the location of where the Holy of Holies used to stand, that is why the plaza is by the Western Wall.

1 Kings chapter 8 is a wonderful read as Solomon dedicated the Temple and explained it's significants. No matter what happens, no matter how bad the sin, no matter where one is in the world all they need to do is turn towards Jerusalem and the Temple and pray and Hashem will listen and maintain that person.
