Default Question from a Catholic

Hey guys. Just a quick question. Does it bother you or even surprise you that we (Catholics) consider you our brothers. After all, our mass is modeled after yours, we openly pray for the Jewish people in our Mass and think we are very similiar. Do you all think this of us, disgusted by this or what? Just a thought, I was always curious. I was taught from a young age to always respect the Jewish religion and I do, I just wanted to know if those feelings are reciprocated or what.

for me personally i do view many christians as kindred spirits, even spiritual brothers. the Rambam talks about Christianity and Islam bringing the idea of a single G-d to the world which will prepare the way for the coming of the Moshiach which only goes to show how we all work to G-d's greater plan together

In light of the bolded comment, I wish to again recommend this outstanding book on the topic:

How Christ Said the First Mass or the Lord's Last Supper

I will give my opinion because this is a personal question. You are a Catholic that loves the Jewish people as some Jews love Catholics. Now as to the catholic Church and it's history. In writing the Church HATES Jews! Look at Church writings and see what great things the Church has to say about the Jewish people. go to any site on Jewish tolerance. But here is a fast look at some of the most known. WWII except for Russia most everyone else were Christians, mostly Catholics in Europe. After the war the killing of Jews did not stop! It continues today! Who helped the Germans out of Europe after the war? The Church! Who has written in their history to convert or KILL all Jews? The Church! So to answer your question. As to myself for we are all people created in the image of Elohim, Yes I Love the people but hate the Church!

Note: The Church saved many Jewish lives during the Holocaust, even though many will spread contrary opinions. A Catholic Life: Pope Pius XIl condemned Nazism
