Well, I've read about a third of them and glanced at about another 3rd of them, although most people who come to Orthodox Judaism are Jewish at one point and just doing teshuva. Very few people actually convert to Orthodox Judaism as most Rabbi's are good enough to talk them out of it.

Although, I'm glad they didn't talk Jewscout out of it.

hey, conversion orthodox requires a very serious commitment to live the observant lifestyle. Though my heart was there my finances were not, but i have my own path to take, and hopefully by summer of 07 i will be on an El Al flight to make aliyah to israel
and i have found a few kibbutzes that will aid me in gaining a halachic conversion

Well, from what I've heard you aren't Jewish unless you convert in an orthodox fashion, and I subscribe to that. Reform or Conservative Movements have a tendency to pick and choose mitzvot or mishna to observe. If one really has love for the Jewish people, and wishes to join them, they are obligated to accept the entire Torah and Talmud (mishna included). They don't have the "luxury" of being born Jewish and choosing what movement they wish to participate in. But, this is just all my opinion.

If you're born from a Jewish mother in a reformed or conservative family, and you come to Orthodox Judaism, there is no conversion, you're simply doing teshuva. Although I think we're talking about opposite thing, I think you're talking about non-Jews who come to Judaism.
