Default Dogma?

There seems to be so many differences, to a non-Jew like me, between the sects and the individuals.

I have recently encountered a Jewish fellow who rejects several of Maimonide's 13 foundations. He insists he's still Jewish. I've heard of (though never met) atheist Jews (Jay?). Soft agnostic Jews. Orthodox Jews. Messianic Jews. Jews for Allah. Jews not zionists. Zionists. Jews for life. Jews for eating soft cheese from wheaty crackers on Thursday afternoons while watching animal documentaries.

I'm easily confused, and until very recently thought all people of the same religion had to share some unifying faith position.

Where is Judaism hiding it's dogma?

no not necessarily. Jews, i've found, run a large gamit (did i spell that right?)
even within one "movement" of judaism or another.
as far as i know Judaism doesn't have a dogma per se...though i think the 13 principles comes close for observant traditional judaism (which is not to say less observant jews don't believe or hold these principles as well just going on what i've learned)
again i could be wrong...i'm sure there are far more informed people out there than i who can answer that question.
