Shas chairman Eli Yishai, whose party opposes a referendum on the disengagement plan, on Monday submitted a bill to dissolve the Knesset and hold early elections.
The bill would dissolve the Knesset and set elections for 100 days after it becomes law.
According to Yishai's bill, the 16th Knesset has "exhausted itself and the only solution is to dissolve it and hold new elections to get a renewed mandate from the people." "I want to know why those who fear a civil war want to have a referendum now and then elections one year later," he said.
