I agree that we are living in the end times as well. In fact, one might surmise that the world was already on the decline at the time of Muhammad (SWT), with the previous revelations in the Tawrat and the Bible being distorted and corrupted.
Of the signs in the modern age, Abu Hurairah reported that men shall boast and build higher and higher buildings. Today we see many nations in the world striving to outdo one another in this regard.
Quote:
"...till the religious knowledge is taken away..."
And this will occur by the death of real religious scholars ('ulama). When the real 'ulama are replaced by "pseudo-scholars" than this is a sign that religious knowledge is being taken away.

I think that all traditions have recognized this in some form. For example, the Hindus believe that in the end times (the Kali Yuga), unreputable men will preach falsehood disguised as truth. The same is happening with Islam. In my university, there are those who can obtain a degree in Middle Eastern or Islamic studies and yet not know a single ayat of the Noble Qur'an. But when they graduate, their word is more valuable than some learned Islamic scholars. The pseudo-scholars are in fact in one way or another undermining Islam by feigning knowledge and so real religious knowledge decreases.
We must be careful and increase our faith in times such as these.
