I was at my third and last year of prep school. This means I was 13 years old. It was Ramadan and usually many girls and women wear hijab during fasting in Ramadan. On the first day of Ramadan I didn't but on the second day I decided to wear it, I came late to my class and when I entered the class, all the girls there said "wooow", "you look very beautiful with the head scarf!!" actually they encouraged me a lot. But I only decided to wear it during Ramadan so I didn't wear it during the Ei'd. After Ramadan and the 'Eid, I said that I would wear it during the school daytime and I did. Then when it was the summer holiday, at this time I decided to waer hijab permanently and alhamdulillah I am muhajjaba now and very proud of my hijab.
My hijab wasn't very good at the beginning, but it kept improving and now I try my best to wear loose clothes and fashionable at the same time. I think hijab represents much improvement in the woman's spiritual life and her relationship with God. I also believe the moment when any woman or girl decide to wear hijab is a very special moment to her so to any veiled sister on RF, why don't you share those moments with us?

I have a question for you not4me, hmmm, or maybe more than one question.
![]() Anyway, i'm wondering, did you notice any change inside you, before, and after hijab? Secondly, how do people looked at you before and after? Thank you. ![]() |

Thank you dear sister not4me for this thread
![]() I was 15 years old when I wore the Hijab. It was a decision that I made myself alhamdulillah because I knew that the Hijab is an obligation upon every women once she reaches the age of puberty. Of course I had been brought up in an Islamic house with an Islamic education alhamdulillah carried out by my mom. My dad had been busy with work and travelling here and there. It was the task and responsility of my mom to educate me and my siblings and I thank Allah for giving me such a wonderful mom who gave us the right education. Before wearing the Hijab I used to wear modest cloths but I never used to wear a scarf. When I wore the Hijab all my friends and mates in class congratulated me and told me that I had light on my face alhamdulillah. Since I wore the first time I never took it off thanks be to Allah. Actually, I would rather die than taking it off. When one wears the Hijab with a sincere pure intention that is done solely for the sake of Allah, it makes the task so easy. And I have found it so easy to wear it even when it's very hot. While wearing it one feels that it is a kind of da'wah and also bringing the attention of people to your Islamic identity. I am so thankful to Allah for the great bounty of Hijab, which is a crown on my head and a protection to me, and I am very proud of it ![]() Peace Last edited by Peace; 06-21-2008 at 05:29 PM. |

Hijab is a part of me, of who I am, of my relationship with my God and that's why I say like what Peace said I'd rather die than taking it off. For a woman who wear her hijab only for the sake of her God, you can't simply ask her to take her hijab off, it hurts me a lot what many sisters face in some countries from banning them to wear their hijab, actually it burns me when something like this happens in a Muslim country.... Every veiled woman should feel that she is a representative of her faith to Muslims and non-Muslims and her behavior with others and her character should be similar to the hijab she wears in its dignity, beauty and modesty. Hijab, in my opinion, is a responsibility, a message and identity. Every veiled woman should be proud of her hijab. She should prove that the Muslim woman is a free and successful woman who loves her God more than anyone else or anything.
