I'm glad you got so much encouragment for your decision. Are any females who decide to not wear the hijab looked at any different in Islam? Or is it seen as just a personal decision with your relationship to God?

Hijab in Islam is mandatory upon every female who attains the age of puberty. Allah orders us to wear it for our own benefit.

Thanks for the link. What if you come to the decision it isn't for you? Does that make you a "bad" Muslim? What about the women mostly in the mid east who wear the full body covering?

When I choose to become a Muslim, then I choose to totally submit myself to my God. If God orders me to wear hijab for example, I immediately obey. I won't pick and choose and say this is not for me as I am saying "Sorry, God, I don't like what you ordered me".

I don't see a non-veiled Muslim woman as a bad Muslim at all, but as a Muslim who needs little encouragement to wear hijab. Wearing hijab is considered a big and not easy move to many girls and women thus they may need time to take this step.

Ah I understand. Islam is different from Christianity as in their holy book. With the Bible it's separated with Old and New Testament. The old is more Judaism and not everything applies to Christian's today such as with not eating certain foods for example where you don't have anything like that in the New Testament since in the NT you can choose to follow that or not. There's a verse that states it's a personal belief and each person has the freewill to choose that or not. From what I understand in the Quran it's all just messages from God through Muhammad correct? I took a world religions class in college two terms ago and at the end the course studied the basics of Islam so I'm just seeing if I have that right. What if the female never makes the decision?

Sister regarding Hijab i will let Notforyou to discuss with you but regarding the NT & OT you claimed which is my speciality. I am learned in Comparetive Religions so I can tell you no where does the NT states that the old law is abolished when Jesus himself said:

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matthew 5:19 - Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

John 14:15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me

1 John 2:3 And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments

Luke 18:18-20 - And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Matthew 5:20 - For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (How can you be better than the Jew by not keeping the commandments, you tell me)
