Salamu alykom dear brothers and sisters,
Well, if you didnt notice, we are couple of days away from Ramadan. My problem here, is I dont feel it! I really dont feel being that close to it, specially when I read the Hadith "Allahum baleghna Ramadan", which means, Oh God let us reach Ramadan, or something like that! What do you guys advice me to do?...I dont feel ready at all, and afraid to spend all Ramadan doing nothing but not eating! Help me here, Jazakum Allah khayran ![]() Salam

Einstein-
i am going to try to fast this month, and i'm putting myself a couple days ahead to get used to it... i recommend getting up early, before dawn, to pray. even before one eats pre-sunrise. i've been trying this, sitting outside in the quasi-dark to think and pray. it does help a lot to get the mind prayerful and ready, even if one doesn't feel much. may God bless you with understanding and sustain you. ![]()

Don't over burden yourself. It is better to do something little and to keep that, rather than doing something big for a few days and then stopping that.
Of course the minimum is fasting and the five daily prayers ![]() You can increase by praying Sunnah prayers, reading the Qur'an, giving charity and so on. May God help you ![]() |

First of all welcome back Resort to du`a brother, that's my advice to you. Make a lot of du`a while praying and especially while prostrating since the servant is more close to Allah while prostrating. Pray to Him and ask Him to help you to do your best in worship during Ramadan. I know that fear when Ramadan approaches especially it is a sacred month and a special month when all the good deeds are doubled... Just resort to God by supplicating Him and insha'Allah you will feel you are ready to welcome Ramadan with all your energy. Try to repeat the following du`a after each prayer اللهم بلغنا رمضان و أعنا على صيامه و قيامه May Allah enable us to double our good deeds during this sacred month and to increase our worship for Him, ameen!! Peace |

This year i am looking forward to Ramadan more than any time before. Two days ago, i told my father that i am feeling we are in Ramadan already..when i hear the Adhan of the 'Esha prayer, it reminds me with the Taraweeh prayer.
I guess the best thing to do is to arrange your schedule and your plans for Ramadan. Btw, praying at the mosque has an amazing effect.....

It doesn't matter if you don't feel it. You'll get into it when it happens and as the month goes by. That happened to me last year. My advice is to make tahajjud before sahoor, and go to the masjid for isha and taraweh. Try particularly to make the salaat behind a hafidh to really feel the effect. Insha Allah this will make your disposition better if you try to increase your amal this month.
May we all increase our iman and amaal this month. I always try to pick a new amaal to do or something to abstain from during ramadan that can extend beyond it. Sometimes I'm successful in that sometimes not. Does anyone else make sort of Ramadan resolutions? |

Salam all of you ,may those blessed days come back in ur lives again and again
, we kol sana we ento tayeben (hope u understand some arabic by now , ayani )Thank u einstein for this thread that reminded me that i wasn't ready enought too , i liked not4me's idea abt a schedule , but since i am an expert in making shedules that i don't abide by , i think it's a good idea to schedule this Ramadan together , what do u think ? , this team spirit will help me a lot really , and it's also a good idea to support ayani in her first "Ramadan" too, i suggest we agree to do some things minimally every day ,and of course anyone of us can do things extra to the schedule (without telling us abt it ) ,is there anyone interested ?
