The beautiful thing about Islam is that even if some of us could not fast, pray or do good for some reasons out of our control, only if we intended to do all these things, it will be written down as we did them, just by our sincere intentions (niyya), we will be rewarded as those who did that good...subhan Allah, Allah is very beautiful.
As FVM said don't worry about it dear sister Khalila, maybe Allah will reward you more than those who fast..by your pure niyya. Ramadan Mubarak to you. ![]()

It still just, makes me feel so sad... I haven't been able to fast for the past couple years. I had a majour surgery during Ramadan one year.
Last year I got hit by a car, got a level three sprain in my ankle in unrelated accident, and then passed a kidney stone just in time for Ramadan. Now I just had a failed back surgery and my health is to the point I can hardly get through the day, fasting would not be a good thing to do right now... and especially since I have to be ready to go to surgeons and other specialists and be prepared for emergency or quickly scheduled surgeries and procedures at all times until they finally get a solution for my health. It's starting to feel like a conspiracy against me everytime Ramadan comes around, LOL! I'm hoping on reading the Qur'an and other books on Islam, improving my Arabic, and working on the Islam FAQ I've been doing as much as I can this month. I'm also getting food and clothing and other needed items gathered to take to local charities. Ramadan Mubarak, all my brothers and sisters. May Allah bless and reward all we do in this month and all others. Quote:

it's great to see you all supporting each other
, ok, let's agree to keep our five prayers at the beginning of the time , keep the sunna prayers (12 Rak'a) , the taraweeh prayer , and recite 1 part (Joz' ) of the quran daily , to finish it by the end of the month inshallah,i don't know how you pray dear ayani ,but just to feel the "team spirit " ,you may recite sura al fatiha "the opening" in your prayers , it's a very beautiful sura which we recite in all our prayers, Here is a very beautiful recitation , YouTube - surah al-fatihaMay we all gather in all "ferdawas al ala" inshallah ![]()

Question… Is there a Dua before you start fasting? Or do u simply need to have the intention that you are going to Fast this day?

The intention serves its purpose. Also one need not voice or state specifically ones niyya for fasting, just the act of getting sahoor is enough proof of intent. Plus Allah knows the intention of the heart anyways.

Wow guys.....just reading your posts got me back into action
![]() I was really feeling not ready, but yesterday, during the Taraweeh prayer, I felt that this isn't a normal occasion, it really feel holy, you know? And maro's idea is great indeed, I agree on that....Lets read a Guza' from the Quran every day...Say the beginning is today, and now we have to read the first Guz' from Al Bakara.. jmaesi...I'm praying for you sister, and really feel how you might be upset now cause of this...But think about it, you may not be able to fast, but yet, you perform other things that may get you much closer to God than those who fast. Spend your time praying and reading Quran, and ask God to get back your health soon, so that to worship him as He wants... ![]() ayani...I'm really glad with your corporation with us, may God bless you ![]() Dear faisal, wellcome to the club (of those who didnt feel ramadan yet!)I think you are about to break your fast now (Malysian time zone), so, if you saw this post before, remember to ask God to set us back into Ramadan's "mood" again.. ![]() Thanks all guys Salam
