Dearest Muslims, I was just reading this passage:
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ (88:1) Has the news of the over-shadowing calamity (of Resurrection) reached you? What is the purpose of ressurection according to Islam, is it a literal bodily ressurection? Is everyone ressurected? Will you be perpetuated in your ressurection bodies? Is paradise then a place for physical beings?

The belief in the day of Resurrection is an essential aspect of the Muslim faith… All believing Muslims must adhere to the belief that Allah created all life as per His will… and He will cause all life to die...then Allah will then bring all the dead back to life when He wishes…. This rebirth will be the final day of Resurrection for humanity where all will stand before Allah and account for their deeds in this world….
Sura At-Tariq (chapter 86) “In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the heaven and the Morning Star (1) - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! (2) - The piercing Star! (3) No human soul but hath a guardian over it. (4) So let man consider from what he is created. (5) He is created from a gushing fluid (6) That issued from between the loins and ribs. (7) Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) (8) On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. (9) Then will he have no might nor any helper. (10) By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, (11) And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) (12) Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, (13) It is no pleasantry. (14) Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) (15) And I plot a plot (against them). (16) So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. (17)” even though Muslims are sure of the certainty of the event of Resurrection, Allah has kept certain aspects of it hidden from us. we are not given any knowledge as to when this event will happen… Muslims believe that their Resurrection will have both spiritual and physical aspects… however the specifics of how the body will actually be are not known precisely… one important element here is that the Islamic view of Resurrection is dualistic... Islam suggests that the soul of the human being is immortal and lives beyond the body… when the body dies, the soul moves into another realm known as Barzakh (I can tell you more about this if you want…)… upon the event of the Resurrection…human souls will go back into the bodies that Allah will recreate for them…the Resurrection involves both body and soul … I hope someone clears up any errors… hope that helped… |

You basically got it right. Yaum-ul Qiyamah is literally translated as the day of standing. We will all be called from Adam, to the last person on Earth to stand before Allah at one and the same time. On that day the righteous will be seperated from the unrighteous. In groups people will gather together on that day, murderers will be grouped together, rapists, theives, adulterers, idolators, etc. People will be handed their book of deeds upon coming out from their graves. Those receiving it in the right hand will be among the believers, and those receiving it in their left will be among those to be punished, whether they were muslim or not. People will be called forth one by one before Allah and have their lives presented them. Any wrong they did to other people will be brought to the forefront. The wronged ones will be brought as witnesses against the accused. To make right these wrongs, the accussed good deeds must go to the scales of the one who was wronged. If the guilty one has no good deeds, then the wronged person's evil deds will be added to the scales as punishment.
One that day there will be no place to take refuge. The sun will be unbearably hot then, and there will be no shade from the heat. A hard day that will be because the fire of hell will become visible and the punishment clearly seen. Also that is a day where the doors of Allah's mercy will be opened. Allah will show mercy upon His creation as He wills. All repentance, good deeds, good intentions, extra charity and so forth will be brought to bear in order to tip the scales in a person's favor. Allah says in His Quran about the day of judgement: 1. When the earth is shaken with its (final) earthquake. 2. And when the earth throws out its burdens, 3. And man will say: "What is the matter with it?" 4. That Day it will declare its information (about all what happened over it of good or evil). 5. Because your Lord has inspired it. 6. That Day mankind will proceed in scattered groups that they may be shown their deeds. 7. So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. 8. And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it. (surah Az-Zalzala 99) As you can see it took me 2 paragraphs to say what Allah said in 8 sentences. |

Thank you both for your answers, I obviously don't believe the things you have written, because my faith is bible based but it is interesting to read your beliefs outside of the debate sections. We are not so defensive when responding to reasonable questions as we are to when our faith is being directly challenged.
F.V.M, is miss our chats, I must pick your brains on the koran more often. ![]()

Quote:
Then there is the great day judgement (white throne) at the last day before the new heavens and the new earth are ready where everyone who ever lived will be judged according to their works everyone not found in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire. Christians will not have to face this as God has imputed to them full righteousness and does not count there tresspasses against them, they are justifed (declared righteous and innocent) not because they are but because the penalty for their offences has been paid for by the Substitute - Jesus Christ. By this time also their sin nature will have been swallowed up by their new nature which has been given to them by God, a deposit of which we have right now on earth for which we groan for the fulness of.

Oh. It's almost the opposite for us. The disbelievers aren't really judged at all. They are thrown into the fire immediately. Allah will judge the first type of judgement based upon iman and kufr, that is to say belief and disbelief. All those who were disbelievers have no judgement because they have no deeds. No belief renders all good deeds null. Sinful muslims will be punished also. Sinful scholars being among the first to get it because of their vast knowledge, but failure to act in accordance to it. The hardest judgement is actually reserved for the muslims. Only the prophets and the most pious among us will be spared the hardship of that day. The rest of us must give full account of all deeds good and bad.
The reason for the full account, well one reason anway, is because Allah can actually be pleased by our good deeds. Our good outweighs even the good of the angels. This is because the angels are not working on faith, but actual knowledge of sight i.e, they see Allah plainly and therefore do not suffer from fluctuating faith. Also, the humans are beset with hinderances, shaitan, people's own desires, not seeing Allah. Yet if a human persists in following the commands of Allah despite these setbacks, our good is worth more to Allah then the good works of the angels who have no such setbacks. So when we do a good deed for the pleasure of Allah, He becomes pleased with us. The good deeds, even if they are small and weak become a source of benefit for us in that day. Simply declaring with sincerity that there is nothing worthy of worship besides Allah, is enough to outweigh every evil deed. Giving a piece of bread, a kind word, al of these things are good deeds, and then Allah multiplies these deeds exponetially to help us on that day. In short, there is no faith without works, because if faith were truly present in the heart of the person, they could not help but to do good, and follow the commands of Allah. |

But word Resurection means " الْغَاشِيَة "To gather all generation for answering what hav ye done in their lives." yes.... Its not surely told in Quran, but prophetic saying concludes "Yes!" every one will be perpetuated in bodies according their deeds and beliefs.... means if belief is true and deeds are good then their body will be free from any ugliness spots etc... conversely, is opposite as above... Yes, paradise is the place where physical beings will live and their age will be 30 according to porphetic sayings. and they will be given brightness of beauty in their teen age and that will never less, remain forever...
