Now I know we(Christians and Muslims) don't share near the same view of Jesus, so i had some questions...
I'll start with one I believe I may already know... In Islam Jesus is a prophet correct?

Welcome Emu.
![]() That's true, Jesus Christ is one of the greatest Prophets of God, because God said in the Quran that the creation of Jesus is similar to the creation of Adam. Both have no father. |

Do you want a yes or no answer, or you want us to talk about it in details providing some verses about it from the Quran?
In general, yes, all prophets of Allah have a purpose which is to call people to worship him alone and to not go astray by disobeying the law of God. |

One of the purposes of the advent of Jesus (as) was to correct the worship of the bani israel. He did not want to abolish the old laws, particularly the base which was the belief in the oneness of Allah and basic forms of worship. They had gone astray adopting many ideas foreign to the one presented to them through the various prophets sent to them. They had a long history of maligning and even killing the prophets of Allah. This lead to Allah being highly displeased with them. In any case Allah sent Jesus to them to warn them of heedlessness, turning from the straight path, and as a proof of his status, Allah supported him with various miracles.
His purpose was not unlike any of the other prophets of Allah. He was sent with a book, the gospels, which contained amended laws to the bani isreal. He was never meant to start another religion, only to rectify the one that was already there. I hope this is on the right track. I'm a little out of it at the moment and my focus is off. Please forgive me if this is not the answer you were looking for.

No it is, thank you
![]() Now... do Muslims have any books/writings that they attribute the teachings of Jesus accurately recorded to(outside of the koran if that is applicable)?

“Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "On the night of my Ascension to Heaven, I saw (the prophet) Moses who was a thin person with lank hair, looking like one of the men of the tribe of Shanua; and I saw Jesus who was of average height with red face as if he had just come out of a bathroom. And I resemble prophet Abraham more than any of his offspring does. Then I was given two cups, one containing milk and the other wine. Gabriel said, 'Drink whichever you like.' I took the milk and drank it. Gabriel said, 'You have accepted what is natural, (True Religion i.e. Islam) and if you had taken the wine, your followers would have gone astray.'
