Salam thanks for your interest in our religion. May Allah guide you to the truth of his religion. it is the truth that is the most important thing. Islam appeals to the heart of someone who is serious in terms of doing acts which are solely for Allah alone. As someone who was once Chrstian I was drawn to many of the scientific evidences of the Quran. I also was one of those people who just believed that the focus of the religion was taken off God and i found it quite strange. I used to say Yeah I know love Jesus but what about God. And then because my family went to different churches i was exposed to different ideologies. But I realized they were all reading from the same yet very different book. Islam was not like that. It was a religion where a man gave the message, but gave all the praises of it to God. It is a relgion where not jut anybodies interpretation of it can be accepted. For example I would rather have Jesus interpret his own words to me instead of someone after him who was not even with him when he was phsically in this life. Islam is a relgion that is built on a justice system and upholds the rights of all people. Islam is a religion which the word itself is not just a noun but a verb. Islam is something a person does. It is not named after any man or any woman it is named for what a person does. And it has more knowledge about the individual, who brought it to us. And there has never in the history of the world been a man like Muhammed the Messenger of Allah.
