Hello NuGmostic, and welcome to the forum.

Verse (2:62) in The Qur'an is translated as follows:

"Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans (before Prophet Muhammad) - those (among them) who believed in God and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve."

Belief in God (Pure Monotheism), following His Guidance and doing good in this life are the conditions for going to heaven in The Hereafter.

Christianity as taught by Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, yes of course.

As for today's teachings in most churches, my answer is no. The concept of trinity contradicts with pure Monotheism.

I just wanted to add that christianity wasn't taught by Jesus but that was after he ascended into heaven.

Jesus "peace be upon him" was asking his people to keep the 10 comandments but he didn't establish christianity by himself.

We believe in what Jesus "peace be upon him" was teaching as an Apostle of God but we do not believe in the religion "christianity" because as my brother cordoba said it has many aspects that contradict with Islam i.e., "the trinity".

Firstly, Maybe I'm wrong about this Jayhawker Soule, but I'm sure I read that 'Discuss Individual Religions' is not the place to take cheap shots, especially to a new member. It amazes me how you guys get away with half the stunts you pull on this forum, but hey the powers that be want to let you, who am I to argue (please do not reply, you can PM me if you want to abuse me, but don't debase the thread anymore!!!!)

Secondly, Ahl al Dhimmi (people of the agreement) consisting of Ahl Al Kitab (People of the book) are terms of this life (Al Dunya) rather than the next (al Akhirah), thus bringing up the Dhimmi status and the constitution of Medinah in answer to a question referring to the next life, has little relevance.

NuGnostic, in regards to Ahl Al Kitab, It is for Allah to judge people, not us. If they in their heart and mind keep their covenant with Allah, he himself says he will not break his.
