Islam and drinking (hell, America, religion, muslims, koran)

Assalam Alaikum

Sadly, these days some of the Muslim youth which is unguided has started drinking as well. I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and i know quite a few people who are young, muslim and drink. These people know it's haram, but still, if they'r influenced by the wrong crowd, they start drinking. I'm not saying everyone does, but some people do. May Allah (s.w.t) guide them to the right path, Inshallah.

Salaam,

drugs used for medication would be a valid intent and are therefore ok. as we learn in Star Wars 3 "Only the Sith deal in absolutes." the Sith were the evil ones for those who do not know. Drugs and alcohol themselves are not evil(though it is easy to think of them as such). it is the intent with which they are used that determines if it is haram or halal.
