Yes that is correct, sorry I couldn't say it in such few words, I thought I should probably explain it a little deeper.
I came across one such instance some time ago and I couldn't understand the view of the madhhab that I follow, because I was more familiar with the view of the other madhhabs. So I inquired about it and asked for explanations and from what I understood the view of the scholar who I follow which I didn't know about turned out to be better than the other Madhhabs.
Now in that case, after I knew that there was a different view and I let it pass without inquiring about it then that is my responsibility. But you must be aware that it's not possible to know all rulings and teachings of Islam in one day or year, as you progress through life you learn more and implement those teachings in your life.
