Is it inevitable that mankind will destroy himself with the weapons of today? How much more will the technology of destruction advance before someone loses control? Do we protect ours by being able to kick their butts? Where does it end?

Unfortunately, I think it's possible. A nuclear holocaust isn't all that unlikely, in my opinion. We came so frighteningly close during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
But, I don't think it's inevitable. I also think it's likely some humans would survive, and rebuild. Still, it's a pretty scary thing to think about!

Why would Christian doctrine describe the end of the world in much of the same terms as the proposed description accounting for the end of the dinosaurs? Certainly it was the end for dinosaurs but not for man.
We already have the capability to support 1,000 people on 1 acre of land (according to my calculations) and that capability exponentiates if we reduce the size of a person thru genetics and/or diet. Can you imagine the antics of a perennial 12 year old in a zero-gravity environment? |

As you can see, i treat this belief with some disrespect because it is the one doctrine which could end up with the extermination of us all! Only the "inerrant-word-of-God" bunch are really millenialists, but they already have someone in the White House! So, I wonder: "is that guy willing to have us all killed on the dumb faith it would end us up in "God's Kingdom?" Is he perfectly willing to use nuclear tipped bunker busters on Iran so he can later step up to real nuclear missiles in his war on the other religions? Is he willing to kill us all to "save" us? What we need is to be saved from them! ?
We already have the capability to support 1,000 people on 1 acre of land (according to my calculations) and that capability exponentiates if we reduce the size of a person thru genetics and/or diet.?
Interesting! You really do want to pack us in, don't you! Seems to me we are already so crowded here on Earth would should be forcefully building space colonies and finding room out in our solar system to climatize into satellite Earths for us! We have immense environmental problems with just this many people; what would those problems be if we had to feed ithat many more people on single acres of land? You are thinking of subsistence farming. Subsistence farmers can grow a lot of food on a single acre by using one plant to shade another and yet another to provide nitrogen to a third and so on. So, is that what we should do? It means grubbing for food as we would not have the fuel to feed the Subsistence system that now enables just a few people to grow a really lot of food. if everyone has to farm to feed themselves on their little tract of land, then there is no one left to build cars, factories and, in other words, civilization.

revelation was also a mans attempt to perceive images through a state of revelation. Get a greek philosopher to describe a space shuttle? Christians use this inability to perceive things beyond their mindframe to account for some of the more radical symbols of revelation.
