This need for "aggressive interrogation" is a red herring. No one's got any useful intelligence from tortured.. er.. aggressively interrogated prisoners, and no-one expects to.
The administration is trying to cover their legally exposed arses.

I'm not betting on it, but I do think how the U.S. chooses to deal with the crimes and excesses of this administration will say a lot about us, and have important ramifications for the future. I wish I could be more optimistic.

I recently read one scholar who said that it's going to take one or two decades to undo what Bush has wrought.

i'm so sorry. some dsays i just want to give the world a hug and say "sorry". Bush has... destroyed so much. with his Iraq war, his war on terror, his political stances and decisions... his administration allows people to be tortured, kept without trial, detained, abused, and kept suffering.

with great power comes great responsibility, and i could never have imagined the immense irresponsibility the past six years has shown us.
