Caesar's conquest of Gaul was an history-making event, setting in motion Rome's conquest of the Mediterranean and installing Roman values on most of Western Europe, as well as giving Caesar enough renown to eventually break down the Republic and install an Empire.
But what might the world have been like if the conquest had failed? Would Caesar still have become an Empire? Would Celtic culture been a far greater influence on European culture to come?
