Default The Jesus Mysteries

There's a laundry list of supposed parallels between Jesus and several other historical/religious figures.

I would be interested to know if anyone has actually taken a look at the original documents - that is, taking ancient descriptions of these religious/mythical characters and intelligently compared them to the Gospels or the historical Jesus (as reconstructed by historians).

If you know of such a parallel, please quote it here and give a source so we can review it together.

The weirdest one of these claims I've heard of is documented here: Divus Julius - English

For the "Jesus was Horus" parallel claim, I'll have to dig out my copy of The Pagan Christ.

Parallels suggested about the lives of Jesus & Horus, an Egyptian God

ALLEGED Similarities between Jesus and pagan deities, an attempt to debunk them.

MORE PARALLES BETWEEN THE "JESUS STORY" AND VARIOUS OTHER SOLAR GODS An interesting chart.

Yes, that's the spam.

I want the actual ancient documents that demonstrates this.

Skwim's second reference
(ALLEGED Similarities between Jesus and pagan deities, an attempt to debunk them.) seems to do a pretty good job of debunking them, AE. Hope you research them and get the truth in this thread. The similarity comparisons are unfair to all.
