I'm afraid this might hurt the sentiments of non-Hindu students at the school, but I have to admit this made me smile-

in a way, its nice thing, but what about non-Hindus? Surely they must have some problems with this?

Hanuman, as Chairman of the school, may be legally tenable. The Indian courts have recognized an entity called "juridical person" and this includes idols. You might want to read the following income-tax case law for more on the subject.

Hindus are not afraid to laugh about Lord Hanuman, and the non-hindus join the fun. This is not done to hurt anyone. It is a sort of dedication in the name of God (just as elected persons take the oath in the name of God) to fulfill the responsibilities of providing good education. No one but a chavinist would like to object to it and we do not care about such people.
Recently, Hanuman has been much in news. Just today a temple in Mandsore, Madhya Pradesh, was struck by lightening when many people were praying there. The only damage was falling down of a small spire. People attribute this to the protection of the God. |

Friends,
In addition to Venu's response like to inform that many business people make some god specaillay Lord Tirupati their legal partner sometimes even without legal doscumsnts only in their minds. They visit Tirupati or which ever partner they accept and put the share in the *HUNDI* there. The reason for my thread 8whcih is correct* is the same reason that as per the understanding Sanatana Dharma covers all humans whereas Hinduism is understood to be a sepearte PATH even by those who follow it e.g. on this thread where everyone is talking about non-hindus. Love & rgds |

Why was the temple struck at all? Why not a local bar or brothel? Why was the local mosque or church spared? |

Once I went to a Mandir with my parents that I had never been to before. There was this really skinny murti of Hanuman...my dad started saying that this was not Hanuman but Hanu-boy (a younger version of Hanuman).
It was just funny because we are accustomed to seeing Hanuman as big and muscular...then there was this skinny Hanuman murti. My dad even commented that if my Grandmother was there she would say, "The person who made the murti couldn't put a little more dirt when he was making it?" Some people might find it weird that we laughed but I was sure that Hanuman was laughing with us. God has a sense of humour too. ![]()
