In hinduism there is jnani yoga [path of knowledge] karma yoga [path of selfless duty] and bhakta yoga [path of devotion.] Which of these three do you focus on the most as an individual and why?

Probably jnana yoga, because my personality is simply attuned to that, which is what Krishna says will be the case for every person. However, he also says that one cannot enlightened without all three, and that a thorough study of one will you take you to all three.

Tried all three, finally settled for Jnana (knowledge), personality, inclination. There is NO (none) conflict between Hinduism and science.

I started a similar thread a while ago:
Realizing the true self through yoga! Even for atheists? I said that I incorporate a little of each but I'm most attracted to Bhakti yoga and Karma yoga. Probably because I love to express love to people around me and naturally all love comes from God. Therefore I express a lot of love and devotion to God. I love to sing bhajans etc. and even shed a couple tears every now and then. ![]()

doesn't matter. they all lead to the same path. but bhakti is the easiest because all it requires is love and we're all capable of love even if we can't all be intelligent (for gyana yoga) or physically healthy (for karma yoga). But in the end they all turn out to be the same.

I belive in the path of knowledge because from that path all the other paths are open. Everything is an offspring of knowledge (something like that) Nevertheless they all the same outcome, moksh, providing you follow it properly that it though.

qwert18, but isn't this esoteric rather than rational knowledge? I don't think you need intelligence?

Esoteric (dictionary.com):
1. understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest; recondite: poetry full of esoteric allusions. 2. belonging to the select few. 3. private; secret; confidential. 4. (of a philosophical doctrine or the like) intended to be revealed only to the initiates of a group: the esoteric doctrines of Pythagoras. In all the three ways in Hinduism, there is nothing esoteric. And without intelligence you cannot proceed in any of the three ways. The elders, the scriptures, the teacher, and Satsanga ('good association' with dharma-abiding people and discussing things) provide what is necessary. |

Satsang gives all that is needed for the soul.

You disregard the variety (Munde-munde Matir-bhinna). One medicine does not suit all diseases. I would prefer talking to Steve Hawkins rather than spending time in singing bhajans or dancing (Ras Leela). I am sure the Swaminarayanas have it.
