Hema, in the other thread,you mentioned feeling a deep connection. What do you, or Akshar, view his personality as being like?

In your own traditions, are you comfortable with him being represented in pop culture? (For example, there seems to be a version of him in several manga tales.)

I was not aware that he was represented in manga tales.

His personality, well he was verrry mischevous, he loved food. But most importantly he was very loyal and loving, he would jump of a cliff onto spikes if his lord ram told him to. A bad though never entered his mind. I'm never comfartable with our deities being presented, because its mosly offensive. Just wanted to say that when ram left earth he also served nilkanth varni (lord swaminarayan) a god from the sect of swaminarayan which is what i am. He said i see no difference is supreme lord and you(you=swaminarayan)

Well, I never heard about the Swaminarayan part but since you belong to the organization I believe you. Yes, Hanuman was mischeivous when he was little. That's how he got cursed so that he'll forget his true strength until someone reminds him of it. He had harassed a Rishi and the Rishi put that curse on him. I also agree that he loved food. There was an incident when he went to eat in the palace and no matter how much food was brought out, he kept eating and wanted more. He became full only after eating a tulsi leaf. Yes, he would do anything for Shri Ram. He was an example of what a true devotee should be like.

Have you ever seen the Hanuman cartoon? It was really nice. I loved the music.

Yes (in hindi) i loved it! The music was fantastic. Hanuman was a name given to him by Indraji, his real name was Maruti. He looked sho cwute and shweet.
