Default Dhanurveda

To get directly to the point, I'm very interested in the Vedic martial arts, warfare, combat, whatever you wish to call it. Namely, it's refered in the Vedas as the Dhanurveda. Upon googling many, many times the only links I have encountered are those presenting scriptures that do not hail directly from the Vedas or sites selling books, which take literature from Puranas, such as Agni Purana, which only have discriptions of certain parts of Dhanurveda, usualy statistics and common facts, but nothing that would actualy help me delve into it in detail.

As I understand it, Vedas contain all lower knowledge in their seed form so whatever can be presented will probably not be answered in full detail as I may wish it. For this, or any other subject, I believe we would need a self-realized yogi who would be willing to grow this seed of knowledge into a tree with branches, leaves and fruit.

Still, those who know anything of this topic or have the four Vedas, I kindly request to share their knowledge of this subject with me and/or point me in a general direction as far as books or general literature, although I'm pretty sure nothing really valid can be found on the internet, so I believe books might be the only option here.

Thank you and,

Namaste

My understanding on the subject is as follows:

Dhanurveda (military science) is a part of Atharva Veda.

It is one of the 4 upvedās (sub-vedās).

With the passage of time, however, many texts of the Vedās have been lost, stolen and destroyed. Soldiers of Alexander the Great used the scriptures as fuel in kitchens; Muslims destroyed them whenever possible; Britons carried many scriptures away.

Atharva Veda was taken away by Germans and Russians.

During the time of world war II, Hitler had a team of many scholars dedicated to deciphering the Vedas. He knew Vedās had immense knowledge. He even started believing that Germans belonged to the Āryan race. Thus superior to others. He massacred people by the millions because of this false notion. The Swastik symbol used by Hitler, also came from the Vedas.

Could be...that is the secret behind German engineering!
