It's not a dogma, it's a philosophical conclusion.
No, I don't think it's shared by everybody, nor do I think it was shared by everybody in the past.

No, I don't believe that. I am a Vaishnava. I follow Vaishnavism. That has a set of beliefs on its own. :P
My belief: There is only one God: Krishna/Narayana/Vishnu. Everything is in God. |

Vaishnavism = The Hindu religion which is centered around Vishnu and/or his incarnations.

"Everything is God" or "Everything is in God" or "God is in everything" etc. could either be the expressions of exultation of a self-realized person or the philosophical conclusion of a seeker of knowledge. This vision of oneness underlies all Hindu expressions.

Your questions indicate you lack a clear understanding of and specifically the limitations of what Hinduism means. As long as you continue to view it as one religion, trying to draw out common elements, you will be confused.

You can say that again. It's becoming clearer and clearer to me that even within sects, there are vast differences. One would think that the four main denominations, Vaishnava, Shaiva, Shakta, and Smarta would be fairly monolithic in themselves, or even have some common denominator between them. But it seems that's far from the case.

Its not even true from individual to individual within a particular sect, especially if you toss in geographic, or linguistic differences.
