Short version (translation, gnostic)

Finally, the gnosis.org site (it has been a while since I've visited the site again) make available the "short version" of the Apocryphon of John. Books and online texts usually only have the "long version" translation of AoJ.

All versions of AoJ can be accessed at The Apocryphon of John Collection -- The Gnostic Society Library.

I have not read this "short version", so when I have time I will do so.

Have any of you guys and girls read it before?

I'm not totally sure, but i think the short version isn't like a summary or anything, but is simply a text translated from smaller fragments i.e. the short version has sections missing.

There is certainly not that great a difference in size, between long and short. Cut-and-paste to MS words revealed that are only few hundred words (7793 words) fewer than the long version (8227).

And you're right; the short version seems more fragmented.
