Does either family or the woman or man pay a dowry? Is intermarriage between faiths allowed? Age allowed to marry? Engagements? Is Pre-Martial Sex Allowed? How is Marriage defined (man and man, woman and woman, man and woman)? Is marriage required? Is divorce okay? |

To be frank Becky, almost all the information concerning day to day life of the ancient Gnostics has been wiped out.
I'll try my best to answer your questions though. Firstly, marriage wasn't exactly encouraged by tha ancients - procreation trapped more souls. But i don't personally totally agree with that view, and i don't think Jesus did either. Quote:

Like i said earlier, people should only marry if they are 100% certain they will be faithful to their partner, and that they will be able to live together for the rest of their lives. Even if this means living in a relationship outside of the bonds of marriage for many years, then thats how it should be.
