I know Gnosticism is viewed differently by Gnostics of today, but I seek that which is more ancient. If any of you have information as to where I can find a written copy (English, Latin, French, German) of the Ginza- I do not seek interpretations or partial translations on the internet- any help would be great; as my search for this holy book seems futile!
Anybody who knows of the Mandeans or the Ginza, please contact me to share information of them both. Greatest thanks to all who wish to help, and thanks to those who can. |

Hey Comet,
I don't know where you can get a full copy of the Ginza, i guess you already know most places have it listed as "limited avaliability". However, i do own a selection of translations from the Ginza, along with other Mandaean literature - Hibil's Lament and some songs from their liturgy. These can be found in the Gnostic Bible by Marvin Meyer and Willis Barnstone. I don't know of anywhere else you will find them. Problem is these Mandaean texts are amongst a much wider collection of Gnostic texts from various traditions including the likes of Manichaenism and Catharism. The book is also quite expensive (although i got mine half price from an Amazon marketplace seller ) Its up to you whether you think having some extracts from the Ginza is worth it?

Thanks. I have much literature on the Cathars as well as the gnostic gospels, amoungst other stuff; I just wish to add the Ginza to my collection of works. It seems an impossible task at times! What dealer did you get the Gnostic Bible from? It is nothing new to me to have to spend $100's and special order things, most the things I look for tend to be of the type - if they can be found at all!

Well, i live in the UK, so the dealer i got it from will be different. But the American Amazon marketplace also has it listed at reasonable prices.
